Shri Davara University has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission, marking an important milestone in promoting yoga education, wellness initiatives, and community development in the state of Chhattisgarh.
The MoU was formally executed during a state-level program held on 25 April 2026 at Vimtara Auditorium, Raipur, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries and representatives from both institutions. The event highlighted the shared vision of integrating yoga with academic learning and social responsibility.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Varun Ganjir on behalf of the University and Gaurav Devangan representing the Yoga Commission. The ceremony was graced by Rupnarayan Sinha, who formally presented the symbolic memento marking the beginning of this collaboration.
On this occasion, Dr. Varun Ganjir, Pro-Vice Chancellor, was specially honored for his outstanding administrative contribution and leadership. He was also appreciated for the successful organization of the International Yoga Workshop held on 13 October 2025 at Circuit House, Raipur.
Key Objectives of the MoU
Under this collaboration, both institutions will jointly work on multiple academic and social initiatives, including:
- Organizing national and international conferences and seminars on yoga and wellness
- Establishing Yoga Vatika and Acupressure Gardens
- Setting up De-addiction and awareness centers
- Expanding yoga-based activities across districts of Chhattisgarh
- Conducting public awareness campaigns on health, wellness, and yoga
- Promoting student participation in government yoga programs for practical exposure
The collaboration also emphasizes strengthening yoga-based research and creating opportunities for students to engage in community service and experiential learning.
Vision for Social Impact
The initiative aims to promote yoga as a tool for physical, mental, and social well-being while encouraging active participation in “Yoga with Public Engagement” programs. It also focuses on spreading awareness across rural and urban regions of Chhattisgarh through structured outreach activities.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including “Tank Ram Verma” and “Purandar Mishra”, along with other officials and members of the Yoga Commission.
