Shri Davara University, Naya Raipur, successfully organized an industrial visit to the Adani Power Limited Power Plant at Raikheda (Raipur, Chhattisgarh) on 20th–21st March 2026. The visit was conducted under the initiative “Project Udaan” with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to industrial operations and bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world applications.

Students from Diploma, B.Sc. Computer Science, and B.Sc. Forestry actively participated in this educational visit. The program was conducted under the guidance of the Dean, Dr. Surajit De Mandal, along with other faculty members, ensuring proper coordination and supervision throughout the visit.

During the visit, students were given an in-depth overview of the functioning of a coal-based thermal power plant. They explored key sections of the plant, including the Coal Handling Plant (CHP), Boiler Unit, Turbine Hall, Control Room, and Cooling System. Industry experts explained the complete process of power generation, highlighting how coal is used to produce heat energy, which is then converted into steam to drive turbines and generate electricity.

A special emphasis was placed on industrial safety practices. Students were briefed on safety protocols and were required to follow strict guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment such as safety helmets and adherence to restricted movement areas within the plant premises.

The interaction session with plant engineers proved highly beneficial, as students had the opportunity to ask technical questions and gain insights into large-scale engineering systems and real-time plant operations. The visit also helped students understand challenges in energy production and the importance of efficient resource management.

This industrial visit significantly enhanced the students’ practical knowledge, strengthened their understanding of thermal power generation, and provided valuable exposure to modern industrial practices and safety standards.

The University expresses its sincere gratitude to the management and staff of Adani Power Plant, Raikheda, for their cooperation and for providing this valuable learning opportunity to the students.
