*Various Programs Organized at Shri Davara University on the Occasion of Children’s Day, Naya Raipur*
On the occasion of Children’s Day, November 14, 2024, Shri Davara University organized several programs aimed at promoting physical and mental health among students on campus. The celebrations included a motivational lecture and various sports competitions, where participants of all ages came together in the spirit of fun, learning, and camaraderie.
The program began with the garlanding of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru’s photograph, the lighting of lamps, and an informative lecture on the importance of play and learning in child development. Shri Tulsidas Sanghani, Honorary Director of the University and the chief guest, delivered the keynote address. He emphasized how physical activities, creativity, and social interaction contribute to the overall development of students. His speech resonated with both students and professors as he highlighted the role of sports and education in shaping a strong personality.
Following the lecture, the campus buzzed with enthusiasm as various sports competitions took place throughout the day. Students from different departments participated with great energy. The main attraction was the inter-departmental chair race, which was met with loud cheers from the audience. These events not only encouraged friendly competition but also promoted teamwork, sportsmanship, and university spirit among participants.
As part of the second phase of the program, special guests from Nandanvan Jungle Safari, Naya Raipur, including Forest Department personnel Mr. Upendra Sahu, Mr. Chandramani Sahu, Mr. Santosh Yadav, Mr. Sheikh Javed, and Mr. Kapil, joined the celebrations. Various activities were conducted to commemorate International Peacock Day, including a unique quiz and drawing competition aimed at fostering environmental conservation, wildlife awareness, and creativity among students. Enthusiastic participants demonstrated their knowledge and awareness by answering questions related to the environment, wildlife, and jungle safaris. Meanwhile, in the drawing competition, students showcased their artistic talents by creating beautiful illustrations of forests and wildlife.
At the end of the competition, the winners were felicitated with certificates and prizes for securing first, second, and third positions. The Children’s Day celebrations concluded with a renewed emphasis on child welfare, mental health, and holistic development, aligning with the day’s theme of nurturing future generations through education, creativity, and physical activity.
Acknowledging the success of the program, University Director General Dr. Charmi Davara and Chief Executive Officer Shri Chinmay Davara extended their congratulations to everyone involved. The event was attended by University Registrar Shri Kumar Shwetabh; Chief Controller of Examinations, Dr. Varun Ganjir; Dean, Dr. Manish Verma; along with professors, assistant professors, and students from various faculties. The event concluded on a positive note, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees and reinforcing the university’s commitment to holistic student development.
