One-Day Health Check-Up Camp Organized at Shri Davara University, Naya Raipur

On 12 November 2024, Shri Davara University, Naya Raipur, organized a one-day health check-up camp with the aim of promoting health awareness and providing accessible medical services to students and faculty. The camp was conducted in collaboration with MMI Hospital, Raipur, offering basic health check-ups and preventive healthcare guidance.

A large number of students, faculty members, and university staff enthusiastically participated in the event, availing themselves of free healthcare services. The camp was well-equipped to conduct essential health check-ups, including blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, BMI assessment, and general health consultations. Health professionals from MMI Hospital brought state-of-the-art medical equipment to ensure accurate results and provide a comprehensive health assessment.

The camp was inaugurated by the Chief Executive Officer of the University, Chinmaya Davara, underscoring the university’s commitment to promoting health within its academic community. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Charmi Davara, Director General of the University, emphasized the importance of regular health check-ups for the early detection of health issues. She highlighted that young adults and academic staff often neglect their health due to academic and professional commitments, making such initiatives crucial.

The collaboration with MMI Hospital was highly appreciated, as the hospital is well-known for its specialized healthcare services and dedication to community health initiatives in the Raipur region. A team of experienced doctors, nurses, and technicians from MMI Hospital provided individual counseling to participants, discussing preventive measures and offering advice on lifestyle changes and dietary adjustments to manage common health risks such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity.

Dr. Varsha Tripathi, a physician from MMI Hospital and one of the camp coordinators, highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare practices. Adding to this, Dr. Upendra stated,”A healthy student community not only enhances academic performance but also contributes to a more vibrant campus environment. Such health camps play a vital role in creating awareness among young adults about the significance of early detection and healthy living.”

Apart from individual counseling, the camp featured health awareness sessions on crucial topics such as nutrition, mental health, stress management, and the benefits of regular physical activity. Pamphlets and informational materials were distributed, and participants were encouraged to ask questions about maintaining a balanced lifestyle despite academic pressures.

The response from students and faculty was overwhelmingly positive. Many appreciated the opportunity to receive professional medical advice conveniently on campus. The event was attended by several esteemed personalities, including Honorary Director of the University, Shri Tulsi Das Sanghani; University Registrar, Kumar Shwetabh; Chief Controller of Examinations, Dr. Varun Ganjir; Dean, Dr. Manish Verma, along with professors, associate professors, and students from various departments.

By the end of the day, over 200 individuals had benefited from the healthcare services provided, making the event a resounding success. Both Shri Davara University and MMI Hospital expressed their intent to organize similar health camps in the future, reinforcing their shared commitment to fostering a health-conscious academic environment.
